What is a DSE assessment?
DSE stands for Display Screen Equipment. An assessment looks at the workstation you use for screen-based work, including your chair, desk, screen, input devices, lighting and working habits. The aim is to identify practical improvements to your setup.
Can I arrange an assessment for an employee?
Yes. The request form can be completed by an employer, manager, referrer or the person being assessed. Include your contact details and the employee’s details where appropriate, with their permission.
Can you assess a home workstation?
Yes. Remote assessments let us review a home or office workstation by video call. Onsite assessments are also available; contact us to confirm arrangements for your location.
What do I receive afterwards?
You receive a written report summarising the findings and recommendations. This can include equipment positioning, workstation adjustments and practical advice tailored to your working habits.
Do I need to buy new furniture?
An assessment starts with your existing setup. Recommendations depend on what the assessor finds; some changes may involve adjustments to equipment you already have. Any additional equipment is separate from the assessment.
How much does an assessment cost?
The individual assessment price is shown above. For multiple people, or to confirm onsite arrangements, send a request and we’ll discuss your requirements and pricing before you book.
Supporting your DSE responsibilities: HSE guidance calls for assessments for employees using DSE daily for continuous periods of an hour or more, and reviews when users, workstations or needs change. Employers remain responsible for acting on findings. Read HSE guidance.
